BROTHER WILLIE STRICKLAND OF
ELLISVILLE STAGED BIG PROGRAM

On the second Sunday, April 14th it was our happy privilege to preach the anniversary sermon for that wide awake and energetic president, Willie Strickland of Ellisville, Mississippi and his good members.

As we think of the wonderful program arranged by Brother Strickland, assisted by his official staff and members, we are compelled to pin our selves on the shoulders and ask this question: Was not this the greatest local lodge program in the form of an anniversary that we have ever witnessed.

Presidents Alex Moody, S. P. Jones and Bettie Faulkner were present and gave their unstinted support to the program. Seven or eight ministers were on the platform. The editor was introduced by Reverend A. E. Wilson pastor of the M. E. Church of Ellisville, Mississippi. The house was packed to its capacity with people standing on the outside.

The dinner that was prepared and served would suit the taste of a king.

After we had eaten there seemed to be 12 baskets of fragments to be taken up. My, my, the timely program with each participant, was superb.

The mayor of Ellisville was present and delivered a short, interesting address. The quartet singing was just right.

President Strickland is full of fire pep and energy. He is too fine a man not to have his picture running through the Weekly Echo. But he, like some of the rest of our good presidents has not awaken to that one fact, and that they should send us their picture along with a little money, in order that we may have cuts made and run their likeness through the Echo. Look out President Frank Johnson and others, Willie Strickland is gone.
