BROOKS MAKES RECORD
MAKES VERY NEARLY MADE RECORD IN FLIGHT OVER PHILADELPHIA.

Philadelphia, Pa.—Clifford B. Brooks attempted an aeroplane altitude record here when he climbed above this city in his Bleriot monoplane and was quite unable to make further progress in the rarefied atmosphere. The altimeter registered 9740 feet which was accredited as a new world's record by Clifford B. Brooks, chairman of the Washington aeronautical meet class and America.
The instrument this time showed which John Jones carried when he made a former record of 9740 feet by Berliner Pack on October 1
was thought as this date under the would be January King Dufts, the same tars, in earlier fact the record must be qualified
