Savannah, Nov. 10—Actual and visible work on Savannah river bridge which is to connect Georgia and South Carolina at a point near this city and thus consummate the dream of more than 100 years, will begin Monday, preliminary work having been completed by contractors who have driven hundreds of great piles and gathered all machinery and materials at the Port Wentworth site.
South Carolina, in prospect of the completion of this bridge, now is agitating the Charleston-Savannah highway, a great, new, experimental roadway to connect all of Carolina with Georgia and Florida at this point of crossing the Savannah river.
