The International Boxing Club is getting 75 Gs from the Theatre-TV chain, which has a hookup with seventy-five movie houses in thirty-seven cities for the rights to pipe the bout into those spots.
The fight will not be on the regular channels on which the television audience ordinarily views prize-fighting, and in those cities which have no theater on the circuit movies will be available the second day after the battle. Both IBC and RKO have a percentage deal on the films.
So better get yourself lined up for either a movie ticket or a ringside seat at the Stadium if you want this history-making duel.
Kid Gavilan, who meets our local lightweight, Gil Turner, here in July (the seventh which is the day before the All-Star baseball game) will box Fritzie Pruden in a non-title go in Indianapolis May 28.
The Fair Grounds Coliseum is the spot, and this one will be televised on the coaxial cable.
