University of Delaware Team Will Be Featured In Weekly Releases
The University of Delaware football team will be featured in weekly releases from the newly-organized service bureau of the Eastern College Athletic Conference this fall.
Delaware, designated by the ECAC as a small college in the southern division of the conference, will be ranked in statistical releases by the service bureau for newspapers on Monday of each week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday of each week during the 1956 football season, outstanding Delaware plays of the preceding weekend will be highlighted, along with those of other college teams.
An All-East team of the week will be released by the conference service bureau each Wednesday and Thursday, and complete statistics and individual leaders will also be disclosed on Thursdays. A release each Friday will contain historical highlights of the leading games played East the following day.
Bucknell, Lafayette, Lehigh, Temple and West Chester, all 1956 Blue Hen opponents, also will be grouped in the southern division of the conference, while Connecticut falls in the northern division and Rutgers is listed as a major college team. Of the other Delaware opponents this season, neither New Hampshire nor Bainbridge, a service eleven, is a member of the ECAC.
