Full Text

DEMOCRATIC MODERATION.

A writer in the last Argus recommends as a cure for federalism, the use of Democratic argument, such as taring and feathering. Was it to make preparation for this holy work that one of the late procurers of the modest "Damsel," relinquished his nominal concern in the Establishment? Is it possible that any of the democratic party are so mad or foolish as to wish to engage in such infamous actions! It is either a fact that there are wretches among us, base enough to commit such acts or the printer of the Argus has shamefully and basely libelled his party in publishing such sentiments; and without regard to politics, if ever a person deserved a suit, such as he recommends, he most richly merits one for giving place to such vile insinuations.
