The Swedish ship Galathea, captain Willis, from Hamburg, with a cargo of linens, belonging to Mr. Francis Doorman, a well known merchant there, was robbed by the Full Blooded Yankee, revolutionary privateer, captain Jewett, of a great part of her cargo; and after doing this captain J. gave captain Willis a passport, a copy of which is enclosed.—
The privateers have broken open several letters, by various vessels coming from Europe, and taken out whatever they stood in need of.

To the captains of the hermaphrodite brig Intrepide, and of the schooner Independence, belonging to the Chilian squadron, under my command.
Gentlemen,—You will please respect and protect the bearer of this letter, captain B. Willis, of the Swedish ship Galathea, whose papers and remaining property I have strictly examined, and are fully, to my satisfaction, neutral.
At sea, onboard brig Full Blooded Yankee, 11th Nov. 1817, and of our Independence, 9th.
