SONG, DANCE RECITAL
GIVEN BY PUPILS OF
DOROTHY STEARNS ROFF
Sixteen dance numbers, brilliantly costumed, and several accompanied by songs, were presented by the pupils of the Dorothy Stearns Roff Dancing School Wednesday evening at the 20th Century Theatre.
Toe dancers were Maria Worobec in a skyblue formal ballet costume and Colleen Sharpe doing a Colonial-costumed number.
Tap dancers were Carrye Lou Blair, Marcia Horton, Valerie Smith, Maria Worobec, in military numbers.
Hula dancers were Sandra LaRue and Barbara Hallman.
A collegiate tap was by Shirley Casperson, and also a formal ballet number. A Jungle Kitty Dance by Erlene Miller and Margery Blair was well received, as was also their Snowflake Ballet.
Maria Worobec's Carnival acrobatic dance with swirling ribbons and tambourine was cleverly done.
Gladys Uggen and Geraldine Thompson sang in Norwegian and wore beautifully beaded costumes for their dance.
Dolores Freimuth's marigold Waltz was splendid in a 64-yard ballet dress.
The Cloud Dance by Geraldine Thompson and Gladys Uggen was a dream in blue and white.
Mrs. Lillian Uggen was the capable accompanist for the evening.
