On Monday the 27th instant, we had a very full meeting of the freeholders and other inhabitants of this town, & taking under consideration the several letters sent from the committee of correspondence, and from the town of Boston, unanimously voted to chuse a committee of 9 persons to take under consideration the present situation of our public affairs, as specified in said letters, & to report at the adjournment of said meeting, which is on the 12th day of July next, and also passed a unanimous vote desiring the several ministers of said town to appoint a day of fasting and prayer on the 14th day of July next, imploring the divine assistance.
