Ann Arbor, Mich., May 4—Officials and employes of King-Seeley Corp. will be honored for excellence in war production work at 4:30 p. m. Tuesday in Hill Auditorium when they will receive the Navy "E" pennant.
The award has been given to only one other Washtenaw County firm, the Chelsea branch of the Federal Screw Works, and is given for exceptional industrial achievement along war production lines.
The official presentation will be made by Rear-Admiral William C. Watts, USN, and it will be accepted by John Airey, president and general manager of King-Seeley Corp.
Following custom a King-Seeley employe probably will be presented with an "E" lapel button, all workers receiving similar buttons for their part in the work.
The University Band will play. Following the ceremony Navy and King-Seeley officials with other invited guests are to gather at the Allenel Hotel for a cocktail party and dinner.
The Navy "E" pennant has been given since 1906 to warships and Navy personnel for "general excellence", but has been extended to industrial plants only since the outbreak of the present war.
