Edgar Wright and Charles Washington, charged with murder of Thomas Crowson at Metompkin Church Thursday night last, have been arrested and lodged in jail. Constable T. G. Kellam learning that they had shipped as dredgers on vessels bound for the Potomac river secured Mr. U. Q. Sturgis' gasoline launch and followed them. Going from harbor to harbor, and boarding all vessels at work or anchored, he found Wright in Lower Machodoc, Virginia, and Washington in Breton Bay, Md. The colored people raised the necessary funds to pay the expense for arresting them.
