Recent good road activities, especially the advertising for bids for the oiling of the road from Bisbee to the territorial highway is stimulating interest and it is likely that this section of Arizona will soon have a contracting firm that is capable of undertaking any road oiling project. It is thought that the work here and the street oiling which is planned in Douglas will stimulate further activity on these lines all through the state and there will be considerable contract work of this kind to bid upon.

Andy Scott, the Douglas contractor, who has done much railroad work in this city and vicinity, and whose bid for the construction of the Bisbee-Douglas link of the territorial highway, was by many considered the most favorable for the state, was in the city yesterday accompanied by W. M. Adamson, owner of the Arizona Gypsum plaster company of Douglas. They came to look over the project of oiling the road from Bisbee through Lowell, for which bids are now advertised and with an idea of bidding upon this work. Andy Scott has a large grading outfit and W. M. Adamson has also an outfit which contains a traction engine among other things. A combination of the two would result in one splendid outfit and it is understood that this is contemplated by the two Douglasites.

After looking over the proposed work yesterday morning they stated that if they should put in a bid and should obtain the contract, which is not a large one, they would consider the work largely in the line of advertising for future work. It would be to their interest therefore, to complete a piece of road surfacing and oiling which could be pointed out as an example.

While in Bisbee the visitors called on Chairman N. C. Bledsoe of the good roads committee to obtain such information as was at his disposal.
