Mr. SNOWDEN,

I observe in your paper of this morning, that a certain Jacob Butts, who gave to Mr. G. Marsteller for my use, his note dated 27th February last, for 113 dollars, has cautioned the public from taking an assignment from me of the said note; to which I shall merely observe, that Mr. Butts is a young man with whom I have never before had any dealings, and am very little acquainted with him; but cannot help declaring that his conduct in this business is highly improper, and that he has been badly advised.

Thomas Patten.
