THEN ROBBED HIM
TRAGIC FATE OF AN INFORMER
IN ALABAMA- MURDERERS
BOTH ESCAPE.

Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 15.-A special from Gadsden says that the body of John Davis was found early today in a saloon near Boaz.

Two bullets had been fired into the body and the throat cut.

Two thousand dollars were taken from the place.

It is believed that the crime was committed by two moonshiners who had been raided and who regarded Davis as the informer to the government officers.

Both men escaped.
