Big Advertising Campaign,
To Spend Ten Millions
New York City (ILNS)—Launching of a ten million dollar national advertising campaign in support of prohibition is announced by Printers' Ink, magazine of national advertisers and of the advertising business. The campaign is to be launched this month, the magazine announces, the money to be raised by subscription.
It is announced that when the campaign gets under way copy will be appearing in 2,600 newspapers, with general publication to be used later.
A corporation known as the American Business Men's Prohibition Foundation, Inc., founded in Chicago early this year, will sponsor the campaign. Members of the advisory board include: Henry M. Leland, S. S. McClure. Elisha Kent Kane. Fred W. Ellsworth, Frank E. Gannett. R. B. Benjamin, John McKee, John Rudin. Allan C. Emory, Francis E. Baldwin. William R. Nicholson, R. J. Kittredge, R. B. Benjamin, and others. Charles R. Jones is chairman of the foundation.
Mr. Jones has announced that the $10,000,000 budget is intended to cover a three-year period. It is said that a substantial part of the sum required already has been subscribed.
