Full Text

A resident of the alleged Fall River county, living on the Cheyenne river, was asked by an official of that county what he thought would be the final result of the division and was answered in a manner that startled him, as follows: "While I cannot say what Custer county will do, still, were I a resident of that portion I would petition the next legislature to annex it to the southern segregated portion. The fact is the county as it stood before was no more than able to support one county organization, and if I belonged to Custer county I would use my utmost endeavor to have the division virtually annulled by being annexed to Fall River." If present indications count for aught the county seat of Fall River county will be located somewhere on the Cheyenne river at next fall's election. The residents in favor of that portion of the county outnumber those that will vote for Hot Springs two to one. If the promoters of the division racket don't find that the move was a little premature we will miss our guess.
