Douglas Pickering Teaches Violin Here Again Following Absence

A. J. Pickering, former teacher of the violin in Douglas and who, after an absence of a year and a half returned here last September, has announced that he will again take up his profession. In addition to teaching violin he will give lessons on the piano.

Mr. Pickering first came to Douglas in 1916 and gained an excellent reputation as an instructor in music having a large and talented class here for years. The violinist has been connected with the music work in the public schools of California during his absence from Douglas but finally decided, he states, that his proper field was here.

He plans to present some of his pupils in a recital as soon as he has his classes properly organized and when instruction is far enough advanced so that improvement may be noted. The recital will be an invitational affair and the music loving public is looking forward to it eagerly as Pickering himself will play some selections.
