TIT FOR TAT.

"The Hon. James Witherell, member of congress, from the S. W. district of Vermont is appointed a judge of the Michigan territory.

Note. Mr. Witherell was a member of the caucus which nominated Mr. Madison for the Presidency."....Citizen.

The Hon. Josiah Masters, member of congress, from the state of New-York, is also appointed a judge
