M. J. Bearey of Folsom, S. D., who has been in Johannesburg and South Africa for the past four years and who recently returned to the Hills, was in the city Sunday and Monday visiting old friends. He is on his way to the Klondike to see what it is like, but expects to return to Africa which he considers the world's greatest gold country. Mr. Bearey has spent the last year in travel and was fortunate enough to see the brush between the British man-of-war and the Portuguese gunboat in Delagoa bay last February—a half hour's work.
