Oscar C. Brown, prominent attorney and civic leader, was elected executive vice president of the Midway Television institute on Oct. 1.
Midway Television, headed by Jerome E. Morgan, was founded in October, 1945, and offers complete courses in radio, television, refrigeration and other technical fields. Ninety per cent of the school's students are World War II veterans.
Brown, who assumed management of the school on Oct. 1, was formerly president of the local NAACP branch, manager of Ida B. Wells homes and is now manager of the Altgeld Gardens apartment.
He is also a member of the advisory committee of the Chicago Plan commission, the Mayor's Committee on Human relations and the board of directors of the Chicago Negro Chamber of Commerce.
