Gleason Quits As Sox Boss
(United Press)
Chicago, Oct. 17.- "Top" Gleason, veteran manager of the White Sox, has handed in his resignation, and Chas. A. Comiskey, owner of the team, probably will accept it, it was indicated today.
Gleason made known his intention to resign late yesterday after his team won the deciding game of the City Series with the Cubs.
Disappointment of Comiskey at the showing of the Sox, who finished the season in seventh place, decided Gleason to send in his resignation, it was stated. Gleason refused to give any reason, simply notifying his players that he would not be with them next season.
Comiskey refused to make any comment this morning, but he may give out a statement later.
