Gabriels. N. Y. Sept. 18 (AP). President and Mrs. Coolidge left here by special train at 7:30 a m standard time today, on their return to Washington from their vacation in the Adirondacks.
Motoring from White Pine camp, which was for over ten weeks the summer White House, Mr. and Mrs. Coolidge found natives and summer residents out to bid them farewell at the train.
The ride over the New York Central railroad will take them to the vicinity of New York City, and thence through Philadelphia to Washington. The weather was clear and cool for the ride through the mountains.
With them as passengers were Bruce Barton of New York, the writer, and Mrs. Barton, who were guests at the camp over night, newspaper correspondents, and the secret service men, who guarded the president and the first lady of the land.
The White House collies, Prudence, Prin and Rob Roy, occupied special quarters in the Presidential car.
Edward T. Clark, Mr. Coolidge's personal secretary, is making the trip to Washington by motor. After Everett Sanders, secretary to the president, was forced to leave Paul Smith's because of illness Mr. Clark took over the direction of the summer executive offices.
