National, state, and local leaders in the Business and Professional Women's Clubs will participate in the annual three-day meeting of the seventy-five Florida clubs which will be held at the George Washington Hotel in Jacksonville beginning May 19.
An executive committee luncheon with Miss Elizabeth Heth, State President, as hostess will be held at the hotel Thursday noon.
The executive committee meeting and the board of directors meeting will follow.
The evening session will get under way at 8 o'clock Thursday with Miss Mabel Crafts, President of the Jacksonville club, presiding. The delegates will be welcomed by Jacksonville officials. Presentation of the national, regional, and state officers will be made. Climaxing the evening will be a reception in the hotel ballroom.
Recommendations of the President, reports by standing committees, and film forums will compose the Friday morning session.
Awarding of prizes will be made during the Friday luncheon when the National Executive Director, Miss Olive Huston, of New York, will speak on "Legislatively Speaking."
The afternoon session will include a workshop on program planning, a report on The Florida Business Women, and a preview of national board meeting plans.
The evening meeting will feature the 30th birthday party with Charter members as honor guests.
The twenty-four new clubs organized in the state during the past year will be introduced during the evening.
A panel on what you can do for "Public Education in Florida" will be first on the Saturday agenda followed by discussions of legislative platforms, jury duty, and women in policy making posts.
Film workshops, discussions on parliamentary procedure, and clinics for treasurers will make up the afternoon program.
The highlight of the convention will be the banquet Saturday evening when Miss Huston, National Executive Director, will speak on "Have Your Faith Lifted." The installation of new officers will follow.
Music for the meeting will be furnished by the Florida Federation orchestra with Miss Kate Hadsel of Wauchula directing.
The list of delegates from the Key West BPWC at State Convention continues to grow. Each member is earnestly striving to go to this particular State Convention since one of their own members, Wilnelmina Harvey, has been nominated for a State Office.
Miss Edna Pearce, woman member of the Legislature, will be special guest of the State President at the 30th Anniversary Banquet.
Delegates from Key West include Mickey Renna, Dorothy Daniels, Margaret Bonamy, Grace Crosby, Marie Hartel, May Douglas, Mary Graham, Claire Arlen, Wilhelmina Harvey, and others.
