Full Text

From the head quarters of the army of the Empire at Ronneburgh, Sept. 5. The 2d instant arrived here, drums beating, and with 2 pieces of cannon, 224 men of Col. Labadie's corps, which was called the Prussian foreign volunteers, and consisted chiefly of French deserters. The next day they were conducted to Lindau, from whence, taking the benefit of the amnesty published by the French court, they will repair to the regiments they formerly belonged to. The 2 pieces of cannon, being part of those taken from us by the Prussians last year, are to remain here.

That corps was sent to Leipsic to join Prince Henry's army; but on the road they mutinied, kill'd the Major, and wounded several other officers; none but their colonel and a few officers joined that army.

As soon as this was known at Leipsic a large detachment of hussars was sent in quest of them near Altenberg; but the hussars brought back very few of them as they made a desperate defence.

Since the 3d instant the Prussians extremely harass our advanced posts. They make movements sometimes on our left, sometimes on our right which will probably bring on an action. In the mean while all our troops are under arms, and drawn up in order of battle. The heavy baggage has just been sent away to Gera.
