The Candelaria True Fissure makes a wild prediction when it declares that Wm. Stewart will be the next Senator from Nevada so surely as the sun shines. We have too much faith in the good, sound sense of the people of Nevada to believe that they will so far forget their own interests as to elect a Legislature which will send to the United States Senate as a Representative from Nevada a man whose record on the silver question is anything but an enviable one, and whose record on the Chinese question will not bear the light of investigation; whose object in building a residence and opening a law office in Carson is so apparent that no one is likely to be deceived thereby. We desire to supplement the above prediction by another equally plausible and much more rational, and one which we feel certain is much more liable to be fulfilled, which is this: When William M. Stewart goes to the United States Senate as a Representative from Nevada, the editor of the Candelaria True Fissure will be President of the United States.
