The stone foundation of the new depot begins to loom up and the prospects are that the structure will be up before snow flies.
Luther Green, Esq., is building a very substantial foundation in rear of the People's Savings Bank Block, on Main street, preparatory to erecting a brick structure next season.
Many new buildings are being erected in different parts of the Borough and the cry yet is "more houses." We believe a young fortune might be made by any one who would erect a number of neat, cosy dwelling houses. The demand for them exceeds the supply greatly and many persons are unable to bring their families to this place on account of no conveniences for them. The hotels are crowded and the prices are high in consequence. If we had more men like Mr. D. S. Thompson, in Tidioute in the way of building, the population of the place would be double in a very short time.
