WOMAN IN THE PRESENT.
We direct the special attention of all our readers to the admirable essay, with this title, on our last page, from the pen of a gifted writer, Mrs. Caroline W. H. Dall. It will do something—much, we believe—towards exciting inquiry and discussion on a most important subject, in regard to which there is great ignorance and many absurd prejudices in the community. The rights of woman (of which we hear so little) are precisely the same as the rights of man (of which we hear so much)—and they are to be claimed and asserted in the name of God and a common humanity.
