Speaking on the subject, "The Stewardship of Time," Dr. Booth told the graduating class of Alcorn College "As you strive from day to day to fill each moment to overflowing, stop and think of the minutes and hours as a costly gift from God-to be used at the moment that it is presented. It is the little deeds we do in the moments and minutes that determine for us whether we shall succeed or fail in the hours to come." His was a brilliant message delivered with force, persuasiveness and the eloquence of which he was capable during his school days. A large crowd witnessed the occasion. 199 members of the graduating class, the faculty, and the audience, were motionless as he closed his baccalaureate day sermon with this priceless gem: "Take time to work-it is the price of success; Take time to think - it is the source of power; Take time to play it is the secret of perpetual youth; Take time to read-it is the foundation of wisdom; Take time to worship-it is the highway to reverence; Take time to be friendly-it is hitching our wagon to a star; Take time to love and be loved--it is the privilege of the Gods." Rev. Booth is the pride of his alma mater and a precious medal of Alcorn's famous class of 1940.
