Pay Increase Won by Cape Bus Line Men

ST. LOUIS-- BRT members on St. Louis Cape Bus Line have considerable back pay coming to them under the mediation agreement recently signed which contains pay boosts and other benefits.

The pact, which provides for the union shop and check-off of BRT dues, assessments and insurance premiums, was made effective April 16, 1953. The company agreed to pay all back time not later than July 1, 1953.

Operators' pay rate was upped five cents, mechanics 10 cents an hour and apprentice-helpers eight cents an hour. The busmen are members of Ozark Lodge 1031.

The extra board guarantee was increased from $145 to $170 per month, and the company agreed to furnish all employes with copies of the new contract without cost.

F. A. Purcell, Grand Lodge representative, aided Chairman F. S. Bollinger and his committee in winning the pay increases and other benefits.
