Gov. Chase.

There is nothing like going abroad for the news at home. The Evening Post, of N. Y., gives us this item:

Gov. Chase, of Ohio, has appointed Bernard Boelker, Esq., a commissioner to take the acknowledgement of deeds in this city. A correspondent announcing the fact, observes:

"Governor Chase's appointments have been the very best since our State has been a State, fitness being his only criterion. Chase has drawn more of the real good men of our State, of all parties, into the State service than any of its other Governors. He will be the candidate next fall for re-election."
