Two men were bound over to the Criminal Court of Fulton County Monday under $300 bond each for larceny.
Charles McCally and Robert Terrell are charged with taking between $700 and $800 in cast-iron plumbing pipes belonging to W. H. Aiken, a contractor. Aiken testified in Municipal Court that the two men hauled about 3,300 pounds of cast iron from 1852 Simpson. He said he caught McCally in the act on Nov. 14.
He said McCally carried the metal in a wheelbarrow through the woods to a truck-driven by Terrell. "I don't know how in the world they got it out of there," he added.
Terrell, who said he did not know the metal was stolen, said he agreed to haul it to a scrap iron yard for 50 per cent of the profit. About half of the metal has been recovered it was reported.
