OUR TRIP
TO THE LIBRARY
By CAROL SHUTE
(Mrs. Langhus' 2nd Grade Class

Our class went to the Library Saturday at 2:30. We had fun. We looked at the books on a big round table. Each one took a book to read. Then Mrs. Langhus read us a book about a Peddler who had red and blue and white and gray caps. But he could not sell them. So he walked out of town. He sat down under a tree. Then he fell asleep. Some monkeys came and took the hats and took them up in the tree. The man woke up. He said Give me back my hats. The monkeys would not give him back his hats. So the man Stomped one foot but the monkeys just stomped one foot. Then the man stomped both feet and the monkeys stomped both feet. Then the man got real angry and he threw his cap on the ground. Then the monkeys threw their caps on the ground, the peddlar picked the caps up and went back to town. He was happy now and sold His caps for fiftycents apiece.

Mrs. Langhus took us to the North Star and we all had a Green River.

We all liked the trip to the Library and the North Star.
