We wonder if it will be Tom Avery or J.

Knox Walker that will have to bear the

mortification of being defeated for Congress

in this district? We hear the name of the

latter frequently mentioned in connection

with the nomination. He is a regular,

thorough-bred disciple of Democracy, while

Tom's conversion has been so recent that

his party fealty might be questioned by the

radicals. Perhaps Mr. Curria may yet be

decided upon to be the best Democrat of
