Meriden, Ct., Sept. 8—Walter Taylor, 63, of 124 Howard avenue, New Haven, New Haven road engineer, received a fracture of the skull at Wallingford this morning when, it is believed, his head struck a waterplug as his train was drawing out of Wallingford. A fellow engineer in the cab at the time brought the train to Meriden and Taylor was removed to the Meriden hospital. He has a chance for recovery. His New York to Springfield train is due here at 8:02 Standard time, and was delayed 18 minutes by the accident.
