Dear Brother—As His Excellency
Rutherford B. Hayes, President of
the United States, is expected to visit
this city to-morrow (Sunday) after-
noon, it being the Sabbath day and
in the absence of any secular demon-
stration, I would suggest that you re-
quest the superintendents of the vari-
ous Sabbath schools of this city to
take their schools with their banners
and form a line at some suitable
point, to welcome him and his dis-
tinguished party to our city.

Schools in Salt Lake City
By special request of President
John Taylor, the Sunday School
children are expected to meet to-
morrow afternoon in honor of Presi-
dent R. B. Hayes and party, on their
visit to this city.
For further particulars, to secure
concert of action, the superintend-
ents are invited to meet in the Council
House, this evening, at 7:30 o'clock
punctually.

In accordance with the above, a
meeting was held on Saturday night
in the Council House, which in view
of the lateness of the hour at which
the call for the meeting appeared,
was not fully attended by the super-
intendents. In consequence of this,
all those who were absent will be
waited upon this morning by the
missionaries, and informed of the
proceedings of the meeting, the pro-
gramme that has been adopted, and
the part they are expected to take in
the demonstration.
