Full Text

Frequent allusion has been made in the
public prints to Lord Cochrane's Frigate.
From a gentleman, who was lately on board
of her, we learn, that she mounts 38 guns,
about 26 long 18 pounders. She has a
steam machinery to move her, which is so
fixed that the paddles may be lifted up out
of the water in case of a storm. She is rigged
in the manner of a Spanish Polacre--
her sails managed by balyards from below.
and they do not require hands to go aloft to
furl or unfurl them. She was completely
manned, and is supposed to be destined to
the assistance of the Spanish Patriots.
