The cars on the Mississippi Central and Tennessee Railroad are now running North as far as Jackson. The Madisonian of the 29th ult., says: "Last night at about half past nine or ten o'clock, the first train of passenger cars, made their debut at our depot, and were enthusiastically greeted by about 500 of our citizens, among them were a goodly number of the fair sex. Such another rustling among the denizens we never saw before-they were completely elated. When his 'Iron Majesty' arrived, a host gathered around him and with astonishment and admiration, scanned his huge proportions: It was indeed a rich scene. We congratulate our citizens in regard to this grand consummation-this glorious epoch in the history of Jackson."
