Full Text

The Bell Telephone Co. is engaged this week putting in the new telephone instruments in place of the old ones and "cutting over" the wires from the old exchange to the new building. This process is necessarily slow, but it is hoped to complete the process entirely this week. Linemen were busy yesterday changing phones, the new instruments for the old, starting in the residence district. The new exchange will soon be completely equipped, and no city in the state south of Macon will have one as up-to-date and complete.
