WASHINGTON, May 23.-(A)--

Rep. McDowell (R-Pa), in a statement on the House floor, has called Henry A. Wallace "an ignorant, vicious, unpatriotic liar."

He made the statement yesterday after telling the House he had read that the former Vice-President recently referred to the House Committee on Un-American Activities as a "group of bigots."

Rep. Rankin (D-Miss) interposed to say, "it has been suggested to me that what Mr. Wallace needs is a mental examination."
