For Aluminum Co. of America
L. B. Kuhns and B. J. Fletcher have been named Assistant Chief Engineers for Aluminum Company of America.
Both men will continue in their present positions, Mr. Kuhns as Chief Construction Engineer and Mr. Fletcher as Chief Hydraulic Engineer according to J. P. Haight, Alcoa's chief Engineer.
An Alcoan since 1924, Mr. Kuhns joined the company at New Kensington, Pa. He was Construction Engineer for erection of major prewar facilities at Mobile, Ala., Vancouver, Wash., and Alcoa, Tenn. Mr. Kuhns supervised for Alcoa much of its vast wartime and postwar construction of aluminum plant facilities. He became Chief Construction Engineer in 1952.
Mr. Fletcher became an Alcoan in 1926, serving as an engineer at power facilities in Tennessee and North Carolina. He joined Alcoa sales development division in 1930, became the division's chief engineer in 1944 and was named Alcoa's chief hydraulic engineer in 1952.
