The Sea-Nymph, Capt. Harman, in her Passage from Jamaica, put into Donna Maria Bay, at the West End of Hispaniola, with a Ship for Bristol which had sprung a Leak, and when going from thence, a French Man of War of 30 Guns came in, (having a considerable Number of Soldiers on board, designed to change their Garrisons on the Coasts of that Island) who fired several Shot at the Bristol Ship, made her bring to, and boarded her with 100 Men; but a British Man of War, commanded by Capt. Bridge, fortunately coming up, not only discouraged them from attempting the Sea-Nymph, but occasioned their quitting the Bristol Ship, both of whom were convoyed thro' the Windward Passage by Capt. Bridge.
