The upper picture is a telephoto view of the Florida hurricane in action as it twisted its way through Palm Beach, uprooting trees, destroying office buildings, killing hundreds, and rendering thousands homeless. In this scene a P. & A. Photo cameraman was blown against an iron fence and killed. Arrow points to spot where body of colored nurse-maid was found with three-year-old baby clinging to her breast.
The lower picture is a view of the disaster near the everglades where the Negro populace was hardest hit. The Negro dead will number close to 200, while that of the white population will run close to 1,900.
