Is the Motto of Marietta Crowd at State Encampment.
With the motto-"Marietta for the Encampment in 1902," an enthusiastic crowd left on the 7:55 train Monday morning to attend the State G. A. R., S. of V. and L. A. S. Encampment being held at Bellefontaine this week.
The party left over the M. C. and C. railroad in special coaches which were fittingly decorated for the occasion. A streamer running the full length of one of the coaches, with the inscription in large black letters-"E. G. Dawes Camp S. of V. Marietta 1902" showed plainly that the camp was out for big game. If Marietta does not get the Encampment in 1902 it is evident that it will not be because of feeble effort on the part of local orders. They are to be commended in highest terms for their noble efforts to bring to our city the Encampment for 1902. Let the result be what it may.
