WILL RETURN
Plans All Perfected for the Return of
Redpath Chautauqua in 1922.
After some little work on the part
of interested citizens Tuesday morn-
ing all the guarantors necessary to se-
cure the return of the Redpath Chau-
tauqua in 1922, placed their signa-
tures to the list or contract.
On Monday night it seemed that in-
terest in the return of the chautauqua
was at a low ebb and it was announc-
ed by the management from the plat-
form that not half enough guarantors
had signed the contract for its return
in 1922, and that there would be no
chautauqua next year.
Mr. J. E. Neilson offered the chau-
tauqua people a certified check for
$1500.00 for its return next year and
all proceeds to belong to m n. This
offer was flatly refused by the Red-
path manager, he stating that it would
take $1,750.00 to buy it outright.
The advance in the price of chautau-
qua tickets, it seems, had much to do
with its return, and many thought
that $3 for season tickets was entire-
ly too much to pay for what they
were to receive. Others thought it
was reasonable, and the interested
parties got busy Tuesday morning and
secured the necessary guarantors to
insure its return in 1922.
There was a difference of opinion as
to the programs which made up the
entertainments this season. Some say
the programs were better this year
than ever before, while others hold
that they were lighter this year than
ever before. As for our part we only
saw a few numbers, and they did not
appeal to us as being very heavy or
extraordinarily entertaining.
