Peabody Educational Fund
New York, March 25--The Peabody educational fund trustees have finished their session. The whole subject of trust was discussed by the committee on investigation and inquiry.

A report was made by Bishop McIlvaine, that for the present promotion of primary or common school education by now existing or other agencies to be the leading object. To aid this design normal school education to prepare teachers will be favored, and scholarships endowed in the now existing Southern halls of learning.

Education in aid of the application of science and industrial pursuits will be another purpose of the trustees.

A General Agent, under direction of the Executive committee, is to do much of the business. Rev. Dr. Sears, of Brown's University, was selected. The chairman is to appoint an Executive committee to carry out with the General Agent the views of the Board.

The next annual meeting will take place in this city on the 3d of June, and the Chairman was authorized to call meetings at the will of the Executive committee.

The board agreed to meet in Richmond on the third Tuesday in January.

The executive committee comprises Messrs. McIlvaine, Aiken, Evarts, Graham and Eaton.

A committee was appointed to obtain the act of incorporation from the New York Legislature. Samuel Whitmore was appointed Treasurer, subject to the concurrence of the Finance committee.

The committee on Disbursements and Finance consists of Messrs. Fish, McAllister, Clifford, Boggs and Whitmore.
