Full Text

From NORFOLK, April 5.

There are 10 British ships of war now lying at anchor in Hampton Roads where most of them have been upwards of two months. They have lately impressed seamen out of several American ships outward bound; they have received on board three soldiers belonging to the fort who had run away with the boat of the fort; the commanding officer went on board and demanded his men, but was refused them, they gave for reason that the men had demanded protection from his majesty's ships and they would protect them, and added, that it was of little consequence whether they were there or on Shore, AS THEY WOULD HAVE THE SAME ENEMY TO FIGHT-AND thus kept the soldiers of the UNITED STATES.
