Full Text

Congress.—This body, according to its previous resolve, undoubtedly adjourned yesterday without day. The proceedings up to a late hour on Saturday night will be found in the subsequent columns. The Senate have rejected many of Mr. Tyler's nominations, and now leave him "alone in his glory."

He will no doubt retain many of the rejected in office until his own term of service expires. That's the newest Democratic principle that has been recognized since it was discovered that "all's fair in politics" and that "to the victors belong the spoils."
