Departure of Scandinavian Company.—This Company, composed of Norwegians, Danes, Swedes, and Americans left here on the Steamer Comet, on Tuesday morning, for Madison, where it will form a portion of the 15th Regiment, under Col. Hans Heg and Lieut. Col. K. K. Jones. The leave-taking on the pier was affecting, and many good wishes were expressed by our citizens on the departure, as the Company contained very many sound and substantial men—old and influential citizens of our county. Cas. G. Traversox, the Captain, is an experienced military tactician, and his Company will not be behind any other in the Scandinavian Regiment.

Geo. N. Woodin, Esq., an old citizen and prominent lawyer of this village, is attached to the Company, and left yesterday to join it—his business preventing his previous departure. Our village will miss Squire Woodin much, for he formed a prominent part of its social and political society, but the Company and Regiment will make an important gain in him, as a good business man, and an able counsellor and war friend. We wish him and them renown on the battle field, and safe return to their family and friends.
