PHOENIX, Nov. 20.—It was announced today that an order would be entered in justice court next Monday, postponing until next Friday morning the preliminary examination of Victor and Belle Check, charged with the murder of Victor Check's father, Thomas J. Check. The elder Check, health seeker and well to do financially; died last Saturday night. His son and the latter's wife are accused of having hastened his death by "brutal and inhuman treatment."
Postponement was to be taken because the county attorney's office was engrossed in the trial of Alva Patterson, 18 years old, charged with the murder of his father, Frank J. Patterson. This case had been continued until Monday and was not expected to be finished before Tuesday or Wednesday.
