PROVIDENCE, APRIL 1.

INTELLIGENCE is received at General Glover's head quarters in this town, that a large fleet of shipping passed Point Judith, Monday afternoon last, bound into Newport; the weather being hazy, it could not be ascertained what number the fleet consisted of, or whether they had any troops on board.

Advice is also received, that the enemy on Rhode Island are in motion; and, as it is supposed they are meditating some mischief, it behoves every man to be in readiness to meet them at a moment's warning.
